Why did you choose CONMED? Why Advanced Surgical?

I chose CONMED for several reasons. First and foremost, I saw a bit of myself in everyone that I spoke with during the interview process. They exuded professionalism, dedication, and pride in their work. Additionally, I felt a sense of belonging and encouragement from early on, which gave me confidence that ConMed would dedicate themselves to developing my skills to become the best version of myself.

Advanced Surgical in particular spoke to me due to the exciting technology we represent and wide array of specialties I have the pleasure of working with. Everyday I am afforded the opportunity to support world-class surgeons on their mission to help patients. Ultimately, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join CONMED Advanced Surgical!

What does a typical day in your role look like?

My day-to-day varies greatly depending on my customers’ needs and my sales agenda. Typically, I begin my day in operating room around 7am either supporting current AirSeal users or working with new users to help them understand how the technology can best help their patients. If I’m not in cases, I’m often meeting with administration to discuss ongoing capital equipment deals. If cases and meetings conclude with sufficient time left in the day, I will take the opportunity to visit smaller clinics and follow up with customers about previous meetings and discussions.

How have you grown since coming into this role?

Given that I came into this role with no formal sales experience, I’ve grown immensely since beginning in January of 2023. My colleagues and superiors alike have, and continue to, foster my professional development. CONMED’s formal training educated me on the incredible technology we represent and how to effectively communicate the benefits to customers. Additionally, my North Texas teammates, especially John Paul Clark, have been paramount in helping me develop my own sales style and allowing me to navigate the intricacies of various scenarios as I encounter them. As a whole, CONMED has allowed me to develop a more comprehensive understanding of what success in this industry entails and how to achieve it.

What do you think makes you successful in this role?

My success thus far cannot be solely attributed to my efforts. I have my amazing teammates and CONMED as a whole to thank for unwavering support and commitment to creating a company culture we can all be proud of. The drive and passion of those around me is infectious and pushes me to be my best in the field everyday. My hope is that the passion and energy with which I represent our product line comes across to my customers and ignites a fire in them to walk with me in a journey to better patient outcomes.
