Why did you choose CONMED? Why Advanced Surgical?

I was ready to take the next step in my medical device career and remained close friends with Austin Joyce down in Houston from my previous company. When we would catch up, I could hear how happy and proud he was to be at CONMED and I knew that was something I wanted to be apart of. When a position opened in Dallas and I started interviewing, the incredible culture of this company was already so prominent and that's huge for me. Learning more about CONMED, Advanced Surgical had great products, leadership, and the drive I was looking for in a company so it was a no brainer for me that I wanted to join this team.

What does a typical day in your role look like?

Every day is different and that's what I love about this industry but more specifically CONMED because we have so many products to offer. Being in cases is a large part of our relationship building with our surgeons and staff but it's also an opportunity to see where our products can make a difference. When I'm not in cases, I'm typically pitching to buyers or following up on current deals I'm working on. And of course, catching up with team members and collaborating ideas!

How have you grown since coming into this role?

The number of things I've learned since being at CONMED is a never-ending list. Every day in the operating room, you learn something new, and you find ways to make a difference with your products. Managing your own territory comes with great days where you celebrate your wins and then it also comes with days where you make tough decisions, you own them, and you learn from them. My manager, Nick B., knows I'm working to become a field sales trainer one day so he's been giving me opportunities to experience what that will be like and I think it's so important to have that person who pushes you to your next goal.

What do you think makes you successful in this role?

I think what makes me successful in this role is that I'm competitive, I want the best for my customers and patients, and I 100% believe in this company and its products. On the operating table, we have someone's family member, spouse or friend who deserves the best care there is and us as medical device reps can play a part in that. I am also so grateful for my teammates, manager, and leadership for supporting me and continuing to push me every day.
